Saturn
I will be creating a music video for London music producer Dark Sky, who creates House and Techno music. I had the honour to choose one off his new songs that will be released later this year.
We both agreed on creating an animation for Saturn, a housy and funky song. With it’s funky and spacey elements it instantly reminded me not only of outer space, but also of being lost in memory and longing for love. Hence I decided I wanted to create a story about the longing and searching for a lost love in space. I wanted to empaphise on how we remember the good moments, how we long for the ones who left us and how we often project on the ones we love, the things we want to see.
I want to create a story that is not so obvious for the viewer, work with loops and different scenes and especially focus on beautiful imagery that supports the song.
As the song is very upbeat and light, I do want to create a story line that that is not too heavy or sad.

First sketches and a trial to create a character, which did not work out for me as I do not like either of them.

I like the idea of having more than one action in frames within the frame. To further explain the image. This might allow me to work more in loops and having simpler movements.
